re: June 24 1964 – 2014, 50 years

I ran 12K this morning in memory of my father, Theodore, of which today is the 50th anniversary of his death. Although we do not see him he is always with us!
God bless him!

re: Rabten Choeling – Centre for Higher Tibetan Studies – CH

I recently have been in Rabten Choeling in Switzerland, a nice Tibetan and spiritual community, and honoured to lesson on the teaching of Gonsar Tulku Rinpoche and I really would like to recommend all, to have the opportunity to make a trip there and take a big breath lessoning to this deep man.

Gonsar Tulku Rimpoche teaching

I was there with a friend that has a tinnitus as I do, because my Doctor Dolkar from Delhi was making a short visit to her nephew there, and therefore she asked  me to meet there to visit my friend and to check me as well.

Very hard to write down what was said in 8 hours of being in the Temple with all other guests.

The day was focused on Bodhisattva teachings and something that kept significantly my attention and I did wrote, while being there, in my book, is that to follow the way of being a bodhicitta, you should focus on “practice” at list 6 times a day, 3 during the day and 3 at night.

“Because practice is like a doctor that gives to you medicines saying to take pills 3 times a day because the effect after several hours low down and therefore you should take one more pill to bring the effect up again and so on… because if you don’t do it the effectof the medicationwears off, so taking one more pill will take the effect to the initial state.

The same in Boddhisattva and YOGA as well, because they should be “remembered” 6 times a day to bring always at the top their “teachings”.”

First of all was incredible, for me at list, that YOGA was mentioned in this speech and blend together with Bodhisattva, something I didn’t knew and that gave me even more strenght on my opinion (personal!) that YOGA will be my future, somehow.

The important and foundamental understanding I had, confirming many steps on my life, is that for anything we are doing we have to be constant and persevere, trying to make everyday a big or small effort to reach what we dream but to make it.

There is no sense to make a full day of energy and then rest for 4 days doing nothing, the result will be poor because our brain and body should be learned to run, even slower, but every day, or 6 times a day as Rimpoche Gonsar was mentioning in his speech and that gives me a long way to drive, in focusing my attention more and more in this great philosophy.

Thank you!

re: Fasting, longevity and cancer from Valter Longo

I just want to share a very interesting speech from Valter Longo, Ph.D.
Edna M. Jones Professor in Gerontology,
Professor in Biological Science, Director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California (USC). concerning fasting, longevity and cancer.

There is a very interesting research that prove how the effects of chemotherapy can be lower with an appropriate fasting.
